Hopeless and the Goblet of Fire

hmmz.. jEnn commented that my posts are too wordy and has no pictures, so from this post onwards i'll try to include pictures inside lol.

Went out with Hopeless for a drink and a movie yesterday.. Not everyone went but still managed to gather a few (Me, Ah Yao, Jasper, Jason, Derek, Jinsheng and Cheng Rui). It's been a long time since we last met up as everyone's been busy with their own stuffs.. As you all should know through the heading and the pic, we watched Harry Potter.. lol

The show's not bad, especially when they have more pretty actresses inside.. hoho Since when has a Harry Potter movie had so many eye candies.. Hermione's getting prettier and prettier and there's this asian actress who looks kinda cute... Somehow I notice that Asians who live in Western countries looks quite good. Maybe it's coz of the different features.. And not to mention Fleur, the female magician representing Beauxbatons Academy.. She's actually French ! Didn't noe it until i checked out who is she.. lol

Went to IndoChine for a drink before watching the movie.. Ah Yao ordered Almond Martini ! It was a tad too strong for him and u can imagine his face when he took his first sip of the drink hahaha.. It's actually a nice drink lah, just that the alcohol content was probably too strong for us. Jason ordered Absolute heaven using mandarin vodka and it turned out to be quite good too. Had a great time just hanging around with each other and hopefully the next Hopeless meet up we can get the rest to join in.

Actually.. jEnn was right, hahaha with pictures at least my posts dun look so dull..

That's about all bah, have to sleep and book in tmr morning.. Take care everyone

Get Mindef clearance before posting

This is ridiculous...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I REFER to the article, 'Get Mindef clearance before posting it' (The Sunday Times, Nov 20), with regard to Mr Miyagi's army postings on his blog.

As an avid blogger and reader of his blog, I am relieved that Mindef let him off with a warning, and has even allowed his second blog, Singapore Army Stories, to remain.

I acknowledge that Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) servicemen like myself have to exercise due caution when discussing our national service (NS) experiences online lest we unintentionally leak sensitive information.

However, one issue that causes me concern is Mindef's statement that SAF servicemen have to seek official clearance before posting military content on their blogs or websites.

Technically speaking, thousands of Net-savvy NSFs and NSmen have flouted military law when we discussed our NS experiences in blogs, forums and other forms of media. Seeking official clearance is a time-consuming process for both the serviceman and Mindef's Military Security Department (MSD), which is already bogged down with greater security challenges.

This being so, may I suggest that Mindef comes up with a set of blogging-specific guidelines to help servicemen know when they are crossing the line, as well as the specific do's and don'ts.

This is not meant to tighten the grip on bloggers, but to give us (including Mr Miyagi) peace of mind, with sufficient freedom to express our views on the rich NS experience that thousands of male Singaporeans have undergone, as well as to allow for constructive criticism and evaluation of our NS life where necessary.

In addition, it might even reduce the need for a serviceman to go through the tedious process of consulting the MSD.

As we move towards a 3G SAF (which will exploit information and command and control technologies fully to fight battles effectively and efficiently), we must not only embrace 3G technology but 3G policies are also needed that help catalyse the SAF towards this goal in a swift and secure way.

There's only 1 Keano

This post will not interest you if you're not a soccer fan =D

Guess all of you know by now that Roy Keane has left Manchester United (my beloved club).. Any Manchester United fans will know what a great player Keane was for the team... Who could forget the semi final against Juventus when he inspired the team to the Champions League Final and ultimately winning it, knowing that he would be suspended for the game.

Who else in the team played with more determination than him, fighting for every loose ball and snapping around at the opposition... Keane has brought nothing but success to Manchester in his twelve years there.. This is a player who demands no less than 100% from his team-mates and has no fear of letting them noe if they didn't do exactly just that. Remember the interview he gave that was scrapped by Ferguson before it even went on tv?

At 34, Keane's past his prime. This has been magnified by the fact that the likes of Juventus and Roma have distanced themselves from transfer speculation with him.. However, half of the premiership have stated a desire to sign Keane.. And why not ? With Keane, you know you're getting a winner.. A guy who can instill a winning mentality in the team, a true leader, a guy who can motivate his team, a guy who lets players know when they're underperforming.. He might not be able to push himself to the high standards of Man United anymore, but he will be able to excel at a smaller club.

I'm sad to see Roy Keane leaving Man United but no 1 player is bigger than the club.. Man United has coped with the loss of Bryan Robson and Eric "The King" Cantona.. However, this begets a question.. Who will u find to replace Roy Keane ? Seriously, I've been thinking about this question since two to three years ago.. And till now I haven't been able to come up with a suitable candidate.. Gattuso of AC Milan for me comes closest to replacing Roy Keane.. Tough tackling, no-nonsense, full of steel and determination. However he is no Roy Keane, he doesn't have the leadership qualities of Roy Keane that can inspire the whole team to perform or drive the team to salvage a losing game..

Anyway this is a question that Sir Alex Ferguson will have to solve and i really do hope that he can find a more than adequate replacement.. I do not want to see a repeat of Peter Schmeichel's episode where they could not find a replacement even after getting more than ten goalkeepers.

From now onwards, we can no longer see the famous red shirt with the word KEANE and the number 16 printed behind anymore.. Twelve years of sterling service - including seven league titles, four FA Cups and a European Cup

A legend has left...

I want my 2b licence !!!

Hmmz.... been awhile since i last updated... yuting even asked me if i abandoned my blog -.- Anyway I just passed my Military Driving Test yesterday. It was my 1st test and therefore I'm offically skilled enough to drive Class 4 vehicles... hoho.. Quite a number of pple passed.. Out of 56 around 22 pple passed the test on the 1st attempt. And i'm proud to be 1 of the 22.. But i still hate my vocation, the way the SAF treated me, and overall i still hate the SAF.

In case u all are thinking "you got Class 3 wat of coz can pass lah", let me tell u all that it was a Class 4 driving test. Which means i took the test driving a 3 tonner ! haha.. oh yeah about 3 tonners.. Previously when i said a 3 tonner is a vehicle that weighs 3 tonnes... I was WRONG ! hahaha shit my instructor who gave me the wrong info.. It actually weighs 6 tonnes and it's called a 3 tonner coz it can carry 3 tonnes of load. hahaha.. So now i've got my Military Class 3 and 4 licence..

Talking about licence... i still haven't got my 2b licence !!! haven't got time to complete all my practicals.. think my Riding Theory Test also expire liao... Why ? again coz of the SAF.. Previously they would give 3months notice before yr enlistment date... Now they only give u 2weeks notice.. it's like wtf ? 2 weeks and u want us to settle everything ? or are we supposed to finish our school term and sit at home waiting for yr enlistment letter ? no one knows when the fuck are u going to call us up for enlistment.. u all suka suka call pple up for enlistment whenever u all feel like it... AT LEAST GIVE US TIME LAH !!! wah kao yr 2 weeks very big izzit.. can use to earn 1 million dollars ? If i'm Donald Trump den can lah.. But then again if I'm Donald Trump i wouldn't need to serve NS.. huuur huuur...

I desperately need my own private mode of transport coz i'm starting to hate taking public transport. now i'm lazy to go out if i have to take public transport. hahaha i would much rather stay at home instead. And going to and fro camp would be much easier considering how far it is from my house. I would save alot of travelling time too.

Well.. i plan to complete my practicals somewhere around the end of the year when i clear leave.. Since i'm already at prac 6 and and 2 more lessons to go.. Hopefully I'll be able to finish my lessons asap.. And eventually getting my class 2b licence.. Then i can get a bike..

That's about all.. take care everyone~

-=tests tests tests=-

For the fun of it

What Zodiac Sign Should You Be?
The planets are very complex. Maybe your astrologer will disagree, and maybe a few tendencies will vary, but overall you're an AQUARIUS. As an air sign, you're a great communicator and an independent thinker. Besides which, you've got an incredibly popular side -- people can't resist that inviting personality and your altruistic ways. You are ambitious and creative, but you also have a tendency to be inflexible when it comes to your views. Although you may be a great and giving friend, you tend to shy away from romantic relationships. Your sign -- the water-bearer -- indicates that you give off a special energy that others receive as a gift. You are definitely a people person, and you want everyone to be happy. You also have an analytical edge that comes out in your progressive thinking. In addition to all of these redeeming qualities, you are most commonly known for being the friendliest sign in the zodiac.
(I'm libra by the way)

What's Your Flavor?
Mmm ... licorice! Strong and edgy, you're the flavor of black jellybeans and Good 'n' Plentys. Some people absolutely love you (in fact, they might even find you addictive), but you're definitely not for everyone. But that's okay with you — you'd rather pick and choose your companions. When you have time for friends at all, that is. Powerful and very potent, you're goal-oriented and ambitious — you don't let much stand in your way. There's nothing sweet or sugary about you; you're a serious taste that's best suited for the truly focused. Lingering, enigmatic, and a little hard to pin down, you're a truly tantalizing treat.

Darren, your secret to success is your Grace under Pressure
Even when the pressure's on, you manage to keep your composure and focus on the task at hand. When you're running late for work, the kids can't find their shoes, the washing machine exploded, and the dog is chewing the rug, you have an enviable ability to handle it all without letting your temper get in the way.Calm, cool, and collected, you've got a good, level head on your shoulders. You're not one to get frazzled by life's unexpected ups and downs. While some might let stress get the better of them, you keep your eye on the task at hand and power through it. And that's what makes you excel at anything you try. You go!

And now my Favourite.. hoho

The Ultimate Personality Test
The Real You: A Scientific Analysis

Darren, you're a Millionaire!

Your personality is actually determined by two personality sub-types - your primary, or dominant sub-type, and your secondary sub-type. You are a Millionaire which means you are a
Success / Thinker Your primary sub-type is defined by "Success" characteristics and your secondary sub-type is defined by "Thinker" characteristics.

That means you're very ambitious and personable, and you've got a great sense of humor. Chances are you care a lot about how you look. You're bursting with self-confidence, and people admire you for your achievements and determination. How do we know all this?

How do we know that behind that bold exterior you sometimes worry that you're not good enough? Or that you can be so critical of your work that it verges on self-destructive? How could we have divined that you aim to succeed — and you'll quickly crush anyone who stands in your way?

Because while you were taking the test, you answered four different types of questions — questions that measured confidence, apprehension, willingness to take risks, and your focus on experience versus appearance — the primary traits that determine your personality. Based on your responses, we determined your personality type, Millionaire.
