仙剑奇侠传
After one week of chionging the show, I've finally finished watching 仙剑奇侠传. It's quite a good show in my opinion and if you haven't watched it already from Channel U, i would recommend this show. Xian Jian focuses more on the romance than on the fighting which is supposed to be the core of all "wu xia pians". So be prepared for lots of crying if you were to catch it.
Let me introduce the main cast:
There were some cute scenes in Xian Jian, like when Ah Nu(Liu Ping Yan) rubs her face against Tang Yu's(Eddie Peng) face everytime they hug each other.
The story was great, the fighting was okay with lots of special effects, it was funny to an extent and it was a very touching show. Especially the scene when Xiao Yao(Hu Ge) thought that he was training with Yue Ru(An Yi Xuan) when actually she had already died.
Although many people loved Ling'er(Liu Yi Fei) me included, I felt that Xiao Yao would make a better match with Yue Ru instead. They were very compatible in the show and had great chemistry. Yue Ru's part in Xian Jian is quite sad and I felt very sorry for her because she sacrificed so much for Xiao Yao and yet he was oblivious to it. The part where Yue Ru decided to sacrifice herself to save both Xiao Yao and Ling'er so that they could be together left me NEARLY in tears.
The ending was terrible and could have been better. I was never a fan of sad endings and that was precisely wat Xian Jian had. It's worse than sad, it was tragic. I was totally devastated when Ling'er died. The fact that Ling'er came back up from the water looking just fine, and that little walk with all the happy talk about the future just made her eventual end so much worse! And the shattered look on Xiao Yao's face at the end of the show while holding on to the baby that he and Ling'er had, was damn heart-wrenching as he had lost all his friends and his loved one in the fight against evil.
