Watched The Promise yesterday with kmen and the rest.. And the show sucked ! The only saving grace was Nicholas and Cecilia.. It is an over-rated show and made all the more worse with all the hype surrounding it's release..
All the guys in the movie were sissified, even the ever so cool Nicholas was made to look gay with his cheesy lines.. "Shi ni rang wo bu zai xiang xing bie ren, shi ni rang wo bu neng zuo hao ren." And wat's up with the " bu yao si, yao hao hao huo xia qu." omg !!!! cannot make it lah..
As for Cecilia, need i say more ? Absolutely mesmerizing and pretty as always..
Oh yeah, not to forget Zhang Dong Jian.. Originator of "bu yao si, yao hao hao huo xia qu".. Well his acting is not spectacular but not bad either.. I'm not gonna go into details about his mandarin coz he's not chinese after all.. Creditable effort on his part but i felt maybe the director might want to dub his voice next time around..
Basically to me, the show was stupid, the lines were stupid, the plot was stupid and the ending was.... well it sucked. However, the special effects were commendable if not great, the sceneries were beautiful and the costumes rocked.. I especially liked Nic Tse's suit and the black cloak.. The Crimson Armour looked quite good too.
If u guys are thinking of watching this movie during the weekend, i would recommend u all not to.. However it might be worth a weekday ticket though..
I'm sure by now u all will have known about the guy who managed to siam NS for 28yrs and came back just to get fined $5k. All because he's a famous pianist.
